The area of with a seismic intensity of 7 is about 14 ㎢ and a seismic intensity of 6 is about 388 ㎢. The probability of an M7-class earthquake occurring in the southern Kanto region within the next 30 years is thought to be 70% (according to the Head-quarter for Earthquake Research Promotion). In 2022, TMG revised for the first time in ten years its Damage Estimates in Tokyo due to an Earthquake Directly Hitting Tokyo (published in 2012) and Damage Estimates in Tokyo due to a Major Nankai Trough Earthquake (published in 2013), which were formulated in response to the Great East Japan Earth-quake. This is outlined as follows. * Totals may not add up due to rounding to the nearest whole number. * Shaking, etc. includes damage from liquefaction, steep slopes, etc. Estimated Damage to Tokyo(A)Damage Estimation
